Interview Preparation Checklist for Candidates

The following checklist helps you prepare your system, environment, and tools for a smooth HackerRank interview experience.

  1. Verify your Interview invite:

    • Check your email for the interview invitation from the hiring company.

    • Confirm that the email includes the interview link, date, and time.

    • Read any special instructions included in the email.

  2. Use a supported browser: Use a compatible browser to avoid technical issues. For more information on supported browsers and operating systems, see 📄 Browser Recommendations for HackerRank Interviews.

  3. Explore the Interview platform: Try the sample link to get familiar with the platform.

    Note: Open the interview link in an incognito window or a browser where you are not logged in to a HackerRank account.

  4. Understand the coding environment: Each programming language has specific time and memory limits for code execution. For more information, see 📄 Execution Environment.

    You can also access the Execution Environment article from the Settings menu during the interview.

  5. Understand code execution and output: Your code runs against test cases for each question and displays the expected output along with the corresponding score.

  6. Run a system compatibility check: Run the System Compatibility Check to test your browser, network, and device setup.
