HackerRank Tests are online assessments designed to evaluate your technical and programming skills. If a recruiter has invited you to take a test on the HackerRank platform, this guide will walk you through the steps to log in and start the test.
Preparing for Your Test
Take the Sample Test available on your test login page to familiarize yourself with the HackerRank environment and tools before attempting the actual test.
Steps to Log into a HackerRank Test
Accessing the Test Invitation
You will receive an email invitation from your recruiter to take a HackerRank test. Click the Start Test button in the email or test link to access the test.
Review Test Instructions
By clicking on the Start Test button, you will land on the test login page:
- Read the test Instructions carefully
- Scroll down to view the sections and question types included in the test.
- Proctored Tests: If the test requires proctoring, you must enable webcam access on the login page. Before proceeding, grant HackerRank permission to use your webcam.
Register or Log In
Depending on the details provided in the email, you can log in or register:
- New Users: Fill out the confirmation form by entering your email address, full name, and password. Click Sign Up to create a HackerRank account.
- Alternatively, you can sign up and log in using Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, or Git accounts.
- Registered Users: Use your existing HackerRank Community credentials to log in.
Complete Profile Information
- Specify your work experience in years.
- (Optional) Select Share my HackerRank profile to share your Community profile with recruiters.
- Read and agree to the Honor Code by selecting the checkbox.
Start the Test
- Click Agree & Start to begin the test.
- The system may take a few seconds to prepare the test environment for tests with project-based questions, such as Data Science, Front-end, Back-end, Full-Stack, Cloud, or DevOps questions. Once ready, click Go To Test.
Test Interface and Timer
On the test interface, a list of available questions will be displayed. Click Solve next to a question to open it and begin answering.
The test timer starts as soon as the interface launches. You can monitor the remaining time at the top of the screen.
