Test Preparation Checklist

Before you begin your test, review the preparation checklist below for a hassle-free test experience.

  • You can perform a system check here before you start your test.
  • Install and use the latest versions of Google Chrome or Firefox browsers to take your HackerRank tests for the best experience. Refer to Browser recommendations for more information.
  • Since this will be a proctored test, take the test from a webcam-enabled computer. Check your webcam status before you begin your test. Take a look at the Webcam Troubleshooting Guide if you have any problems with the webcam access during the test. 
  • Use our default dark theme and disable/remove extensions that change the theme of your browser.
  • Ensure you are in a location with good internet and power supply to avoid problems during the test.
  • You can carve out a quiet and well-lit test-taking spot with minimal distractions, as the webcam will be enabled for the test.

Answering Questions on HackerRank

You are expected to receive multiple-choice questions in the GS Engineering Campus Hiring Program 2025 Assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. We recommend you go through these questions first to resolve your questions. Before the test

Your Recruiter may enforce proctoring for your HackerRank Test. Proctoring allows your Recruiter to monitor your focus on the test screen and detect any malpractices during the test.

Two types of proctoring are enabled for the GS Engineering campus hiring program 2025. 

Tab Proctoring 

Tab proctoring will be enabled for your test, so we suggest you not switch tabs in between while taking the test, as the same will get captured in your report, resulting in disqualification for the next round.

Proctoring or Webcam Proctoring 

The GS Engineering campus hiring program 2025 is a proctored test, and you must enable your webcam to take the test.

Note: You can only start the test if the webcam is enabled for your system or if you have a faulty webcam installed. Also, below are a few things you need to understand before taking a proctored test.  

a. Always ensure that you sit in a well-lit area and that your face is visible during the test. Before starting the test, we ensure you sit in a well-lit environment. Below are some examples of ideal and non-ideal scenarios explaining how to sit for a proctored test.

b. Make sure your face is perfectly positioned in front of the camera.

c. Ensure you have a clean background (no photos or people in the background) during the test. Only your face should be visible to the camera. Only your face should be visible to the camera.

d. This test is being proctored. Hence, your photos will be taken during the test at a periodic time interval. Only the person taking the test should be visible in those photos.

You must follow these rules while taking the proctored test. It may cause disqualification for the next round if not followed properly. 

You will have already received the link if you have completed your registration successfully on the Goldman Sachs portal with all accurate details and are eligible for the program. Recommend checking other folders (including spam) in your email service. If you still need help finding the invite, it could mean you are not eligible for the test. 

It is not possible for us to reschedule the test. We recommend you make yourself available for the test 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot to avoid missing the test. 

You can take either if you have received multiple invites for this test. You must ensure that you take this test only once.

It is possible that some of the browser extensions cause this error while attempting a test. We advice you to disable all the browser extensions and refresh the page when you see this error.image.png

During the test

So that you know, all the work you submitted before losing the internet connection will be saved on our servers. After the internet connectivity is resumed, you can log on to the test again (if it is not past the test completion time) and resume answering the questions. The test timer does not stop ticking when you are offline, and the test ends at the scheduled time. We suggest you use a backup internet connection in the worst-case scenario since you can't retake or extend the duration once the given time is over. 

This message usually shows up when you have an unstable internet connection. We recommend that you check your internet connection before joining the test. If your internet is working fine but still getting server errors, don't hesitate to contact eventsupport@hackerrank.com.

This may happen due to poor or no internet connection at your end. We recommend you check your network strength before starting the test. The test login page might also not load in the unlikely event of downtime of the HackerRank server. You can check our website status over here.

If you experience any issues with the content, such as incomplete questions or images not loading, it may be due to your internet bandwidth. Please try refreshing your page.

Whenever you type the answer for a multiple-choice question, the HackerRank interface saves your answer immediately. You can learn more about the auto-saving functionality from here.

It is not possible to extend the test duration. We suggest you be prepared before the test to avoid unwanted scenarios like loss of Internet connectivity or electricity to make sure you complete your test in the given time. Please go through the test preparation checklist shared above to help yourself be well-prepared for the test.

After the test

Goldman Sachs will review your test attempt and reply with your result as soon as possible. We suggest that you be patient during this period.
