Frequently Asked Questions
How do I log into a test?
You can sign in using your Google, Facebook, HackerRank, or Github accounts. For more details, see Logging into a HackerRank Test.
What should I do if I lose internet connection during a test?
All submitted work is saved on our servers. Once your internet is restored, you can log back into the test and resume (if it's before the test end time). Please note that the test timer continues running even when you're offline. We recommend having a backup internet connection as you cannot retake or extend the test once the time is over.
Why do I keep getting a server error?
This message typically appears when you have an unstable internet connection. We recommend checking your internet connection before starting the test to ensure it is stable.
What should I do if the test login page fails to load?
This may occur due to a poor or absent internet connection. We recommend checking your network strength before starting the test.
I couldn’t submit my test. What should I do?
Whenever you type the answer for a coding, subjective question or select the answer for a multiple-choice question, the HackerRank interface saves it immediately. Learn more about the auto-saving functionality here.
Can I have more time to complete my test?
HackerRank cannot extend the test duration, you will need to discuss this with your recruiter, or whoever sent the test. To proactively avoid issues, please refer to the Test Preparation Checklist above to ensure you're ready to complete the test within the allotted time.
I’ve submitted my test. When will I receive my results?
Please refer to the article Results of your HackerRank Test for more details.
