Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. We recommend you go through these questions first to resolve your queries. If your question is not addressed with the FAQs listed below, please reach out to the person who invited you to take part in the test.
How can I log into a test?
You can sign in using your Google, Facebook, HackerRank, or Github accounts.
Check Logging into a HackerRank Test for more information.
What should I do if I lose internet connection in the middle of a test?
Before losing the internet connection, all the work you have submitted will be saved on our servers. After the internet connectivity is resumed, you can log on to the test again (if it is not past the test completion time) and resume answering the questions. The test timer does not stop ticking when you are offline, and the test ends at the scheduled time. We advise you to have a backup internet connection in the worst-case scenario, as you can not retake or extend the duration once the given time is over.
Why do I keep getting a server error?
This message usually shows up when you have an unstable internet connection. We recommend you check your internet connection before joining the test to see if your internet is working fine.
What should I do if the test login page fails to load?
This may happen due to poor or no internet connection at your end. We recommend you check your network strength before starting the test.
I could not submit my test. What should I do?
Whenever you type the answer for a coding, subjective question or select the answer for a multiple-choice question, the HackerRank interface saves your answer immediately. Learn more about the auto-saving functionality from here.
Could you please extend my test duration?
It is not possible to extend the test duration. We advise you to be prepared ahead of the test to avoid unwanted scenarios like loss of Internet connectivity or electricity to ensure you complete your test in the given time. Please go through the test preparation checklist shared above to help yourself be well-prepared for the test.
I have already submitted my test. When will I get my result?
You will get your test result once your attempt is reviewed. Request you to be patient during this period.
